Wy'East Zen Center schedules various types of retreats throughout the year. For more information on any scheduled retreat contact Shintai Dungay.
Periodically Zen Buddhists gather for sesshin, or 5-10 day silent meditation retreats. During sesshin participants follow a rigorous schedule from dawn until dusk that includes 5-10 hours a day of seated meditation (and sometimes more). WEZC co-hosts an annual sesshin with Bright Way Zen in August. Our next sesshin is August 8-12. You can also attend sesshin locally at Dharma Rain Zen Center, Zen Center of Portland, or Great Vow Zen Monastery.
