Seido will talk about the embrace of all beings in practice, particularly the other than human life that often appears as a backdrop to our more pressing human concerns. How do we practice with the immense losses we are increasingly aware of in the earth's flora and fauna and our own unwilling involvement? Seido will bring three essential takeaways from a summer of study she has done with her sangha on integrating the whole of life into our practice beyond the human sphere. "Unlearning" the conditioned mind of separation, listening to the immediate teachings from cedar trees, earthworms, and ravens, is itself another expression of zazen, and one many suggest may be the key to our common future.
