What We Do
Wy'East Zen Center is a meditation and discussion group that meets every Sunday, Monday and Wednesday for meditation, dharma talks and discussion. We also offer regular retreats, opportunities for deeper studies, introductory workshops, Jukai and Lay Disciple ceremonies and many other practice activities. We are grounded in the Soto Zen tradition but our practice is open to people of all faith traditions and beliefs. No previous meditation experience is necessary.
Wy'East Zen Center is a member of Dharma Rain Zen Center’s Dharma Cloud Family.
Our Mission
The purpose of WEZC is to provide a space for the teachings and practice of Soto Zen Buddhism, and to be a sanctuary of Buddha, Dharma and Sangha in such a way as to cultivate compassion, love and wisdom throughout our community and the world.
Statement of Inclusivity
This Sangha acknowledges that suffering is a human condition which can be made worse because of biases or prejudices for or against any race, ethnic origin, sexual orientation, sexual identity, political party, or other belief or position. This Sangha welcomes and affirms all who come here to seek the Way, and who will work toward respectful acceptance of others across our many differences, harmonizing the one and the many.
