Practicing for Each Other: Shantideva's Boddhisatva Vows - Dharma Talk by Thomas Koshin Bruner

Mahayana Buddhism brought important gifts to the evolution of Buddhist thought and practice, namely: laypeople could become enlightened, and not just monastics; and, we practice for the liberation of all sentient beings, and not just ourselves. The Mahayana archetype of the Boddhisatva embodies practicing for others, and Shantideva's version of the Boddhistava Vows is among the most beautiful.
