Welcome Spring Meditation Retreat (Zazenkai)

You are warmly invited to join Wy'East Zen Center for a day of stillness and meditation in a beautiful forest lodge at YMCA Camp Collins in Gresham. Meditation is silent and seated, and in 25-minute periods, with break periods for mindful enjoyment of the many of hiking trails and abundant wildlife. We will also do walking meditation, share a silent lunch and incorporate some simple Soto Zen practices. Meditators from all traditions are welcome.

A $10.00 donation is suggested, but please don't let lack of funds prevent your attendance. If you are able to donate you may do so the day of the retreat, or in advance by going to PayPal.

9:30 am - 10:00 am: Seated meditation (zazen)
10:00 am -10:10 am Walking meditation (kinhin)
10:00 am - 10:40 am Seated meditation (zazen)
10:40 am - 11:20 am Full Morning service
11:20 an - 12:00 pm Break (hike, individual meditation, rest)
12:00 pm - 12:30 pm Formal lunch (instruction provided)
12:30 pm - 1:00 pm Break (hike, individual meditation, rest)
1:00 pm - 1:25 pm Seated meditation (zazen)
1:25 pm - 2:15 pm Group practice activity (mondo or daisan, with explanation)
2:15 pm - 2:30 pm Evening service
2:30 pm - 2:55 pm Seated meditation (zazen)
2:55 pm - 3;05 pm Walking meditation (kinhin)
3:05 pm - 3:30 pm Seated meditation (zazen)
3:30 pm - 4:00 pm Tea, cookies and closing statements
